There are many nonprofit, social media, and technology conferences all year long. March is a particularly busy conference month. I’ll be attending and speaking a number of conferences and workshops this month. If you are attending, be sure to say hello.
SXSW: March 7, 2014
What Social Media Analytics Can’t Tell You I’m thrilled to be on a panel organized by Alexandra Samuel, Vision Critical, along with Jeremiah Owyang and Colby Flint. The session will share the results and insights from research studies that combining social media analytics with survey data. I worked with Alexandra and her company to design a study that gather insights about social media usage and charitable giving. I’ll share the results and insights during our panel. Mashable identified our panel as a “don’t miss at SXSW.” I’ll be going to the SXSW Nonprofit and Social Good Meet Up and the Digital DoGooders Award where my colleague, Mark Horvath, will be honored. Colleague Michael Hoffman will also be doing a workshop on video and will be hanging out at the Beaconfire Lounge.
NTEN: Nonprofit Technology Conference: March 12-15th
This will be my 14th Nonprofit Technology Conference. No wonder it always feels like a family reunion. I’ll be doing a session designing and delivering effective training with John Kenyon, Andrea Berry, and Cindy Leonard on March 14th at 10:30 am. More about the session here. I’ll also be attending Penguin Day. There are also lots of fun social events, like NTCBeer. And, I’m leading “NTC Walkers” – join me to keep fit during the conference.
Grant Managers Network Conference: March 18th
I’ll be headed to San Diego for the annual Grant Managers Network Conference. I’ll be doing a session with colleagues Danette Peters and Roberto Cremonini on Outcomes, Impact, and Communication where will not only share some case studies and techniques for outcome-based evaluation, but model some small group facilitation techniques for the process. I will also be doing the lunch keynote about on measurement and learning. And, if that wasn’t enough, will do a mini-workshop on using content curation for professional learning.
Association of Fundraising Professionals: March 25th
I will be part of a keynote panel session called “Social Media for Social Change” at the annual conference along with Carolyn Miles, Ben Rattray, Darian Rodriguez-Heyman, and Ritu Sharma
National eXtension Conference: March 26-27th
The conference theme is “Innovating and Networking Our Way to a More Engaged Future“. I will be doing a session on Measuring the Networked Nonprofit and a master panel along with Dave Gray, Jane Hart, and Harold Jarche about social learning.
There’s many other great conferences this month — for example – if you are in New York City, I would not miss the Social Media for Social Good event on March 17th.
Last month, I did a TEDxBerkeley Talk and you can see the video and others here.
Come say hi if you are attending any of these conferences. If not, look for wrap up posts on my blog.
