Since getting onto Twitter in fall 2008 I've treated it like a river from which I sip. My use has evolved from much more sense of connection and getting to know the people I followed early (you're one of them)to saying I'll just sip from the river when I have time. This has made my use fairly random and episodic.

I've gone through and put people onto lists; I periodically unfollow someone when I'm not seeing much of interest in recent tweets; I did a big "scrub" a while back; and now thanks to the "Who to Follow" suggestions I'm once again following far too many.

Your post convinces me it's time to do some serious weed-whacking and get back to a manageable number, then make more strategic use of lists. I don't have to worry about missing the good stuff--there's more than I could ever digest anyway!

Beth,

We are honored to be one of the mentioned vendors. As you know, Eric and I are big fans of non-profits and strongly believe non-profit organizations should be measuring their online efforts like their for-profit counterparts.

To show our commitment to helping non-profits, we have a discount program with our optional paid services. http://www.twitalyzer.com/account/discounts.asp
